Being unable to paint, draw or even write legibly, Glynn discovered his interest in colour and design could be explored by making original patchwork designs. First fascinated by finding he could buy off-cuts and scraps of voluptuous ecclesiastical fabrics, he then delved into the treasures of car-boot sales and between the two developed an original palette and sense of design.
Each piece is constructed randomly, restricted by the number and sizes of fabric pieces available. ‘That’s the challenge I like, making a balanced work out of apparently disparate elements. It’s mathematical as well as creative, and that combination is really satisfying’.
